About This Quote

The world’s population was using up the planet’s resources like mad. The result was that the planet wasn’t able to support all of its people, and they were dying in great numbers. As an advocate for the environment, he began to speak out against polluting industries, and in particular against the meat industry, which was one of the biggest polluters of all. He didn’t like the idea of wasting land for grazing cattle.

He argued that it would be better to eat more vegetables. But he also understood that there were many people who needed food to survive, so he did what he could to help them get it. He helped farmers get better seeds so they could produce more food on less land.

He supported educational programs to teach farmers how to best use their land. And he supported economic programs that improved farming methods so people could grow more food on less land.
